ClinChoice is looking for a Principal Data Scientist to support their inhouse project, aiming to leverage advanced analytics and machine learning for clinical, biomarker, and real-world data to solve business problems and develop data-driven strategies within the pharmaceutical domain.
Requirements
- Proven expertise in machine learning, statistical modeling, and big data analytics.
- Strong programming skills in Python, R, and SQL; experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) preferred.
- Experience with clinical trial data (CDISC standards, SDTM, ADaM) and/or real-world evidence (RWE) data.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design, development, and deployment of advanced analytics and machine learning solutions for clinical, biomarker, and real-world data.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Clinical, Biostatistics, Data Management, and Medical Affairs to identify business problems and develop data-driven strategies.
- Provide thought leadership in data science methodologies, tools, and best practices within the pharma domain.
- Guide the development of predictive models, risk stratification tools, and patient segmentation approaches to support clinical and commercial decisions.
- Oversee the integration, curation, and analysis of diverse data sources (clinical trial data, EHR, claims, genomics, imaging, etc.).
- Ensure compliance with regulatory and privacy requirements (HIPAA, GDPR) when handling sensitive patient data.
- Partner with IT and data engineering teams to ensure scalable, production-ready solutions.
Other
- PhD or Master’s in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Bioinformatics, or a related quantitative field.
- 8+ years of experience in data science, with at least 3 years in the pharmaceutical/biotech industry.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate complex analytics into actionable business insights.
- Demonstrated leadership skills and experience managing or mentoring data science teams.
- As a client-facing role, we are looking for confident candidates with the ability to work independently whilst establishing a high-trust environment with the client’s counterparts.
