Raytheon is looking for a Software Engineer I to support the Missile Defense Sensors (MDS) Software (SW) Department, which provides Radar and Command and Control (C2) Software for Surveillance and Warning Systems. The role involves designing, developing, testing, and releasing software products for programs like AN/TPY-2 Radar, Sea-Based X-Band Radar, Taiwan Surveillance Radar Program, NASAMS, and Air Defense Operations Center.
Requirements
- Experience developing software with C, C++, Java, or Ada.
- Knowledge of data structures and algorithms, memory management, and multithreaded applications.
- Experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins), configuration management tools (Git, Bitbucket, Artifactory), and data analysis tools (MATLAB, Python).
- Experience contributing to a team environment for the purpose of developing creative solutions to complex technical problems.
- Ability to work in a fast paced, dynamic environment with time-critical requirements.
Responsibilities
- Assist and participate in the requirements, design, development and testing of real-time application software and tools, to include development of new work products or enhancement of existing applications and systems.
- Participate in internal reviews of software components and systems.
- Work on problems with defined scope, schedule, and expectations.
- Follow established development practices and processes to maintain the configuration management of software products.

- Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date.
- U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related (STEM) discipline.
- This position requires 12 months or less of relevant professional work experience (excluding internships).
