The Site Reliability Engineering internship aims to immerse interns in the Schwab culture and technology roles, focusing on improving, automating, and safeguarding systems.
Requirements
- Solid foundation of Windows and/or Linux systems
- Systems support, scripting, and/or development (Python, Java) exposure
- Desire to learn and gain exposure to reliability, automation, orchestration, or continual improvement principles
Responsibilities
- improve, automate, and safeguard systems while being engaged in system planning, configuration, monitoring, administration, maintenance, reliability, or security for Schwab systems
- improve the reliability and effectiveness of services through monitoring and correcting tactical and strategic direction to troubleshoot system-specific problems
- Balance solving problems, engineering solutions, and coding or scripting applications
- Prevent problems by improving observability, monitoring solutions, metrics, and system design
- Collaborate with business and technical partners to identify an issue’s root cause, resolution prioritization, and quality improvement opportunities
- Coordinate maintenance activities, such as stress tests, disaster recovery tests, and certificate renewals
- Participate in continuous improvement activities pertaining to information security risk monitoring
Other
- Be currently enrolled in a bachelor's degree program
- Have enough credit hours to put you at a junior level status at a 4-year college or university
- Have not already completed your bachelor's degree
- Able and willing to relocate at your own expense if relocation is needed
- Able to commit to working 40 hours a week for the 9 weeks of the internship dates of June 8, 2026 - August 7, 2026
- Able to start full time employment during business hours between August 2026 - September 2027
- Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis without employer sponsorship.
