The Aerospace Corporation is looking to solve the hardest problems and provide unmatched technical expertise in the space industry, specifically in cloud data engineering to support analysis and Mod & Sim platforms in the areas of launch, orbit analysis, and more.

Requirements

  • Intermediate programming ability in Python and/or Java
  • Hands-on experience with AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud
  • Ability to containerize an application using Docker.
  • Hands-on experience with utilizing REST APIs
  • Ability to use Git for source control.
  • Experience using FastAPI or Flask (Python) and/or Springboot (Java) to develop microservices.
  • Ability to deploy applications to Kubernetes.

Responsibilities

  • Developing cloud native applications to solve some of the toughest problems currently facing the space enterprise.
  • Working with and learning from a group of developers and subject matter experts to support a broad array of space-related projects and advance your own skills.
  • Leveraging the cloud to provide data engineering and data architecture solutions as our customers’ data volumes continue to grow at exponential rates.
  • Interfacing with project leaders, product owners, and customers to convey your key contributions to a project.
  • Working closely with National Security Space, United States Space Force, and other Department of Defense customers
  • Developing data analysis pipelines, tools and platforms to enable the full exploitation of historical and streaming data sets for a variety of civil and national security space customers.
  • Supporting a broad array of space-related projects

Other

  • Currently enrolled full-time in an accredited college/university program pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related discipline.
  • Availability to work full-time for a minimum of 10 weeks outside of university term and ability to return to a degree program full-time after completion of the internship.
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0
  • Must be a U.S. citizen to obtain a security clearance.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
