The Aerospace Corporation is looking to solve the hardest problems in space programs, providing innovative solutions that span satellite, launch, ground, and cyber systems for defense, civil and commercial customers.

Requirements

  • Proficiency in solid modeling and MATLAB for simulation, analysis, and data processing
  • Strong understanding in data engineering, architectures, and platform integration
  • Demonstrated research experience with data ontologies and knowledge graphs
  • Experience with databases and data management systems
  • Cloud-native application development and deployment and familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, Platform One, etc
  • Knowledge of backend and middleware development, as well as ontologies and knowledge graphs
  • Experience with data security and governance technologies

Responsibilities

  • Working closely with National Security Space, United States Space Force, and other Department of Defense customers
  • Providing data engineering and data architecture solutions for the space enterprise
  • Developing cutting edge, modern, and smart data platforms and capabilities enabling further advanced analytics, modeling and simulation, and artificial intelligence
  • Leading development and developing highly resilient and efficient data platforms
  • Increasing velocity and innovation for Aerospace and our customers through the development of data platforms
  • Data engineering is at the center of many developing and future information systems and holds a key role in the organization at large
  • Customers rely on our capabilities as data volumes continue to grow at exponential rates

Other

  • Currently enrolled full-time in an accredited college/university program pursuing a Master's or Ph.D. degree in Computer Science or related engineering discipline
  • Availability to work full-time for a minimum of 10 weeks outside of university term and ability to return to a degree program full-time after completion of the internship
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0
  • Must work well in a team environment
  • Possess organizational, time management and project management skills
