Textron Aviation is looking for an Entry Level Instrumentation Software Engineer to assess software requirements and create/maintain applications for instrumentation configuration and flight test data processing. The role supports new product development, certification, and the experimental flight test environment.

Requirements

  • Ability to utilize computers to create and modify data acquisition software.

Responsibilities

  • Create and maintain applications in support of instrumentation configuration and flight test data processing.
  • Provide support and application development relating to new product development and certification, as well as related processes in the experimental flight test environment.
  • Develop tools and processes in support of flight test data management, which may include instrumentation configurations, parameter calibrations, data conversions, data displays, processing automation, and analysis tools.
  • Ensure the quality, accuracy and traceability of all acquired data.
  • Enhance and update the process of Instrumentation and how data is collected and recorded.
  • Update & enhance the process of data conversion and how data is transformed from raw counts to engineering unit values.
  • Improve the process of data consumption and how data is viewed and used by others.

Other

  • Bachelor's Degree in required in Engineering, Computer Science, or relative technical engineering degree
  • Less than 2 years of professional experience in a relevant role
  • Ability to deal with change and work in a dynamic environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.
  • Professional demeanor and organizational skills.
  • Must have positive attitude and outstanding integrity.
