At Raytheon, the foundation of everything we do is rooted in our values and a higher calling – to help our nation and allies defend freedoms and deter aggression. The ISMA Department supports customer focused mission modeling and simulation activities for all customer areas at Raytheon.
Requirements
- Applied and/or academic experience of modeling and simulation of physical systems.
- Knowledge of the system engineering life-cycle model.
- Experience in data analysis and statistics, especially dealing with large volumes of data.
- Coursework or internship experience in the following areas: Software development processes and object-oriented design using C/C++ and/or Java in either Unix or Linux computing environments.
- Scripting languages such as Python, Shell or Perl.
- Numerical computing environments such as MATLAB.
- AI/ML and high-performance computing (HPC) grids.
Responsibilities
- This is an onsite modeling and simulation (ModSim) position using our Python-based proprietary ModSim software. You will support the design, development, and utilization of medium-fidelity digital simulation software in advanced technical computing environments.
- You will contribute your knowledge to evaluate work across a wide range of intriguing computational problems to answer operational questions such as: What should the next military system-of-systems look like? What is the effectiveness of new technologies against large-force adversaries and multiple threats? What counter-measures should be considered to increase efficiency and/or improve survivability, and what are the answers to the customer’s operational performance questions? What numbers and costs get the best performance?
- You will contribute to mission-level system modeling and data analysis activities to support new business, system-of-systems design, and operational impacts of new concepts of operations.
- You will contribute and collaborate with your team using inputs from program, external customers, or team experts, while working on projects across multiple military operational domains (aerospace, maritime, subsurface, land) as you determine, develop, and implement analysis to generate informed decisions.
- You will support and build ModSim software and analyze results to influence the product lifecycle.
- You will develop and implement model-based solutions to support mission trade studies using mission level simulations to ensure they meet defined requirements and performance.
- You will innovate and explore ideas which make a difference.
Other
- Master’s degree in science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM), or equivalent experience.
- This position requires 12 months, or less, of relevant professional work experience (excluding internships).
- Minimum 3.2 cumulative GPA is required.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with a high performing team.
- Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
