Raytheon is seeking a Software Engineer to support the Missile Defense Sensors (MDS) Software (SW) Department, which provides Radar and Command and Control (C2) Software for Surveillance and Warning Systems. The role involves designing, developing, testing, and releasing software products for programs like NASAMS and the Air Defense Operations Center (ADOC), requiring collaboration and adherence to Agile and DevSecOps principles.

Requirements

  • Experience developing software with C, C++, Java, or Ada.
  • Experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins), configuration management tools (Git, Bitbucket, Artifactory), and data analysis tools (MATLAB, Python).
  • Knowledge of data structures and algorithms, memory management, and multithreaded applications.
  • Experience contributing to a team environment for the purpose of developing creative solutions to complex technical problems.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, dynamic environment with time-critical requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Assist and participate in the requirements, design, development and testing of real-time application software and tools, to include development of new work products or enhancement of existing applications and systems.
  • Participate in internal reviews of software components and systems.
  • Work on problems with defined scope, schedule, and expectations.
  • Follow established development practices and processes to maintain the configuration management of software products.
  • Develop and deliver software for one of the MDS Department’s programs.
  • Design, develop, test, and release software products for one of our Radar or C2 programs.

  • Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
  • DoD Clearance: Secret
  • The ability to obtain an Interim Secret U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date.
  • Well-developed communication, technical writing, oral presentation, and interpersonal skills.
