The Hardware In the Loop (HWIL) Department in Tucson, AZ is a multi-discipline organization responsible for designing, building and integrating state of the art testing environments (flight simulators for missiles), as the last step before flight test, to help support tactical software development, testing, and delivery for missiles to the warfighter at Raytheon

Requirements

  • Academic or internship experience that included hands-on testing of electronic equipment
  • Exposure to troubleshooting technical issues with electronics in an academic or internship setting, or as part of a hobby
  • Experience troubleshooting systems using test equipment such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, network analyzers, and/or spectrum analyzers
  • Experience with using telemetry data collection equipment to capture real time data and/or real time monitoring
  • Experience with electrical schematics, interface control documentation, and communications protocols
  • Experience with reading and integrating software routines with hardware/electronics; C/C++/C-Sharp preferred
  • Experience with instrumentation and collection of large data sets, including the application of scripting or automation to data collection and analysis

Responsibilities

  • Work on a multi-disciplined team to support systems integration
  • Support troubleshooting and failure data analyses, including root cause and corrective action processes and advanced use of lab or field test equipment
  • Work in a lab environment integrating software, firmware and hardware in support of complex systems

Other

  • Must be enrolled in a Bachelor’s (or higher) Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) degree program and will be at minimum, entering their Sophomore year by the start of summer 2026
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
  • Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date
  • DoD Clearance: Secret
