The Integrated Solutions Modeling & Architecture (ISMA) Department supports customer focused mission modeling and simulation activities for all customer areas at Raytheon.
Requirements
- Academic experience of modeling and simulation, or related disciplines.
- Knowledge of the system engineering life-cycle model.
- Completion of at least one course in data analysis and/or statistics.
- Coursework or demonstrated experience in at least two of the following areas: Software development processes/object-oriented software design, Scripting languages such as Python, Shell or Perl, Numerical computing environments such as MATLAB, AI/ML and high-performance computing (HPC) grids.
Responsibilities
- This is an onsite internship for modeling and simulation (Mod Sim) using our Python-based proprietary Mod Sim software.
- You will contribute to evaluating intern-level appropriate work across a wide range of intriguing problems to answer operational questions such as: What should the next military system-of-systems look like? What is the effectiveness of new technologies against large-force adversary and multiple threats?
- You will contribute to mission-level system modeling and data analysis activities to support new business, system-of-systems design, and operational impacts of new concepts of operations.
- You will learn the skills which set apart this high performing team from other endeavors in the industry.
- You will support and build Mod Sim software and analyze results to influence the product lifecycle.
- You will develop and implement model-based solutions to support mission trade studies using mission level simulations to ensure they meet defined requirements and performance.
- You will innovate and explore ideas which make a difference.
Other
- Must be a rising Junior by the start of Summer 2026 majoring in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM), or equivalent.
- Minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA is required.
- Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date.
- U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
