Raytheon Software Systems Engineer - Onsite internship to support design, development, and utilization of medium-fidelity digital simulation software in advanced technical computing environments to answer operational questions about military systems, technologies, and strategies.
Requirements
- Academic experience of modeling and simulation, or related disciplines.
- Coursework or demonstrated experience in at least two of the following areas: Software development processes/object-oriented software design.
- Scripting languages such as Python, Shell or Perl.
- Numerical computing environments such as MATLAB.
- AI/ML and high-performance computing (HPC) grids.
Responsibilities
- support design, development, and utilization of medium-fidelity digital simulation software in advanced technical computing environments.
- contribute to evaluating intern-level appropriate work across a wide range of intriguing problems to answer operational questions such as: What should the next military system-of-systems look like?
- What is the effectiveness of new technologies against large-force adversary and multiple threats?
- What counter-measures should be considered to increase efficiency and/or improve survivability, and what are the answers to the customer’s operational performance questions?
- What numbers and costs get the best performance?
- contribute to mission-level system modeling and data analysis activities to support new business, system-of-systems design, and operational impacts of new concepts of operations.
- support and build Mod Sim software and analyze results to influence the product lifecycle.
Other
- Must be a rising Junior by the start of Summer 2026 majoring in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM), or equivalent.
- Minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA is required.
- Knowledge of the system engineering life-cycle model.
- Completion of at least one course in data analysis and/or statistics.
- Demonstrated desire to work with a high performing team.
