The Mission Engineering Group at JHU/APL is seeking interns to support critical work in software engineering, systems engineering, and/or decision science to develop new tools and systems for the warfighter of tomorrow while analyzing and supplementing current capabilities.
Requirements
- Have coursework and/or project experience in any of the sought specialty-areas of software engineering, aritificial intelligence/machine learning (AI/ML), systems/digital engineering, or decision science.
 
- Can demonstrate successful problem solving in a technical area.
 
- Have some familiarity and experience with programming languages and methodologies, such as C++ on Linux, JavaScript, Java, Matlab, Python, SysML, OOSEM.
 
Responsibilities
- Software prototype development.
 
- Software integration and testing.
 
- Concept and requirements development.
 
- Mission engineering-to-test integration efforts.
 
- Model-based and digital engineering best practices.
 
- Decision analysis and information dependency mapping.
 
- Data visualization and analysis.
 
Other
- Are pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree majoring in Physics, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Data Science, Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or other related engineering fields.
 
- Can work effectively in a team environment as well as independently.
 
- Completed previous internship/co-op or have other relevant work experience.
 
- Can demonstrate effective oral and written communication skills.
 
- Have a minimum 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale.
 
- Are able to obtain an Interim Secret security clearance by your start date and can ultimately obtain a Secret level clearance.
 
- Eligibility requirements include U.S. citizenship.
