Requirements
- Work zone safety knowledge
- Ability to use Geographic Information Systems
- Knowledge of construction work and road construction projects
- Familiarity with design and construction of engineering projects
- Ability to use various software and tools related to Civil Engineering, Environmental Science, and Geographic Information Systems
Responsibilities
- Learn in the ins and outs of construction work and road construction projects
- Experience opportunities to assist professionals in project layout and coordination
- Work with local external vendors and contract companies on road projects
- Learn how to coordinate various disciplines and skills through design and construction of a ground-up engineering project
- Gain experience in cross functional collaboration and teaming through intern group projects
- Create and give a presentation on the completed projects at the end of the internship
Other
- Available and able to work Monday-Friday 7:00 am - 3:30 pm, with a range of expected overtime (varies per department)
- The ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
- Must be able to communicate positively with concerned citizens/residents
- Possess strong organizational skills and complete all work in a timely manner
- Legally eligible to work in the United States
