Holland America Line is looking to solve operational inefficiencies, redundancies, and areas for cost saving through data analysis and process evaluation.
Requirements
- Proficiency using MS office Suite including Outlook & MS Teams
- Ability to work independently, remotely and self-manage
- Well organized and able to communicate effectively with colleagues and managers
- Engineering/Data Science/Business Administration/Project Management skills
- Ability to use Excel and Power Bi
- Ability to use MS teams and Microsoft 365 tools
- Ability to develop and refine technical skills
Responsibilities
- Data Collection and Analysis: Utilizing Excel and Power Bi to find patterns or highlights between different data sets
- Process Evaluation: Compare HESS procedures with maintenance strategies, SOPs, purchasing workflows and OEM technical manuals
- Cross Function Collaboration: Engage with Hotel, Compliance, Marine and Finance departments to identify cross-departmental process improvement
- Procedure and Policy Workload Review: Review HESS and company directives to assess their impact on onboard team workloads
- KPI Monitoring and GAP Analysis: Investigate options for developing KPIs relevant to the superintendent’s responsibilities
- Operational/Project Support: Support dry dock and other projects planning efforts through data entry, budgeting, milestone tracking, and vendor coordination
- Visit vessel to understand operations behind the data
Other
- Eligible candidates are enrolled in a four-year accredited undergraduate program (where they are at least a rising junior) or in a graduate/Ph.D. program and have a GPA of 3.0 or higher
- MUST NOT be a graduating senior in the summer 2026
- Ability to work independently, remotely and self-manage
- Well organized and able to communicate effectively with colleagues and managers
- Ability to participate in team meetings and discussions
