APL is looking for a PhD graduate to assist in tackling complex research, engineering, and analytical challenges critical to the nation by designing and developing scalable software systems that leverage data science, visualization, large language models, and artificial intelligence.
Requirements
- Have experience with modern UI frameworks such as react, vue, or angular
- Have experience with Python, Java, or Javascript
- Have experience with LLM engineering such as prompt design, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), or agentic frameworks

- Dive into exciting projects and apply your skills in areas like Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Data Science, Software Engineering, DevOps, Signal and Image Processing, and Mathematics.
Other
- Have a PhD in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or related technical field
- Are able to acquire an Interim Secret level security clearance by your start date and can ultimately acquire a Top Secret level clearance.
- If selected, you will be subject to a government security clearance investigation and must meet the requirements for access to classified information.
- Eligibility requirements include U.S. citizenship.
