AMD is seeking a Software Engineering co-op to join their team to build and maintain software applications, automate software development processes, and investigate the root cause of software issues, ultimately contributing to the development of next-generation computing experiences.
Requirements
- Software engineering concepts, principles, and theories
- C/C++ programming and Scripting language like Python, Windows PowerShell, Linux shell script, Perl, Java, Javascript, UML
- Operating systems UNIX/Linux OS
- Databases, MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB
- Cloud computing platforms, Azure
- Web development frameworks, Django, Rails, Spring Boot
- Mark up languages like HTML, XML, XSL
Responsibilities
- Work closely with software engineers to build and maintain software applications
- Build scripts that automate some of the software development process
- Learn debugging methodologies to investigate the root cause of software issues
- Craft technical/functional documents and reports as needed
- Contribute to the full software creation process, from design and built to testing and deployment
- Work on projects that impact millions of end-users worldwide
- Gain real-world experience on projects that accelerate next-generation computing experiences
Other
- Currently enrolled in a US based University in a PhD degree program majoring in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or related discipline
- Ability to work full time (40 hours) in a hybrid or onsite work structure throughout the duration of the co-op term
- Ability to work in Austin, TX, US or Boxborough, MA, US
- Must be willing to submit application and indicate interest in AMD co-op positions
- Must be eligible to work in the US
