The business problem is to support continuous improvement initiatives focused on delivering performance and increased efficiency in the Quality Control Team at Genentech.

Requirements

  • Experience in Process Development, Quality Control, Engineering, Manufacturing, or Technical Services is required.
  • Strong ability to collect, analyze and interpret data to identify trends and inefficiencies.
  • Strong problem solving mindset and demonstrated capability to solve problems leveraging a systematic approach with data.
  • Demonstrated understanding of project management skills.
  • Understanding of Lean, Agile, or Toyota Production System is preferred.
  • Knowledge of cGMPs or equivalent regulations in a laboratory environment is a plus.
  • Experience in the pharmaceutical / biotech industry is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Actively participate in QC Improvement meetings and support Structured Problem Solving initiatives to help the team implement solutions that eliminate root cause contributing to performance challenges.
  • Attend daily cross functional meetings to support Quality Control teams to deliver on daily plans related to product testing, environmental testing, maintenance, and validation of equipment and methods.
  • Assist in the design, collection, and analysis of process data to enable improved understanding of QC capacity and performance.
  • Support developing tools and dashboards to visualize key performance indicators (KPIs) and identify trends.
  • Participate in mapping Quality Control processes and workflows to identify waste and improvement opportunities.
  • Support 5S and Lean initiatives in the laboratory including improving tools leveraged at daily huddles, material flow, and simplified processes.

  • Must be currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree or have recently graduated.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively document findings, present data, and collaborate with team members.

  • The expected salary for this position based on the primary location of Oregon is $45.00 per hour.
  • Paid holiday time off benefits are available for this position.
