Caterpillar Financial Services Corporation (Cat Financial) is seeking Information Technology Interns to work on specific projects, utilize analytical skills, and contribute to the development and administration of their IT systems. The goal is to solve complex application/technical problems, develop system modules, and assist with integration and testing, ultimately contributing to the company's mission of building a better world.

Requirements

  • Fully knowledgeable of current programming languages, program design and specification development, programming logic, logic diagrams, system analysis techniques, testing, debugging, documentation standards, file design, storage, and internal systems.

Responsibilities

  • Performs all programming, development, integration, and system administration assignments.
  • Provides project management, programming, systems and/or system administration leadership, guidance, and assistance to other team members.
  • Works on more complex application/technical problem identification and resolution, including responding to off-shift and weekend support calls.
  • Works independently on complex processes and modules that may be used by one or more programs, systems or in support if infrastructure component change management.
  • Develops major system modules, programs or infrastructure releases based on requirements gathered from system customers.
  • Performs integrated testing and customer acceptance testing of system components that requires careful planning and execution to ensure timely, quality results.
  • Performs integration tasks for in-house developed systems and/or purchased hardware and software solutions.

  • Expected to use your analytical skills and work independently.
  • At the end of the summer, you will prepare and deliver a presentation to management on the details of your project.
  • You'll gain professional and personal growth through the program, and you will also have opportunities to interact with senior leaders and other interns through group activities such as social events and leader presentations.
  • Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors.
  • Knowledge of approaches, tools, techniques for recognizing, anticipating, and resolving organizational, operational or process problems; ability to apply knowledge of problem solving appropriately to diverse situations.
