Waymo's Systems Engineering team needs to blend software and hardware systems to set high performance standards, ensure vehicles run smoothly, keep passengers safe, and validate performance through design and testing for their autonomous driving technology.
Requirements
- Solid understanding of physics, geometry, and dynamics
- Proficiency in C++, Python and SQL
- Experience building and testing autonomous systems
- Experience building ML systems
- Experience using VLM's
Responsibilities
- Developing metrics and models to evaluate and enhance the performance, safety and scalability of our self driving system
- Evaluating new models or methods to assess their performance and applicability to problems
- Finding new ways to gather the required data needed to improve our metrics and models
- Communicating benefits and limitations of new models and metrics to partner teams
- Integrating and deploying metrics and models on fleet-wide data
Other
- Currently enrolled in a MS/PhD program in computer science, statistics, applied mathematics, physics, or a related technical field of study
- Strong background working with data
