Waymo is looking to develop machine learning solutions addressing open problems in autonomous driving to safely operate Waymo vehicles in dozens of cities and under all driving conditions.
Requirements
- Hands-on experience with deep learning frameworks (e.g., PyTorch, TensorFlow, JAX) and ML coding, proficiency in Python and/or C/C++
- Demonstrated expertise in research domains such as Deep Learning, Self-Supervised Learning
- Experience with large-scale model pre-training, including foundational models, ML modeling and system design and experience in 3D Vision etc
- Proficiency in ML frameworks like Jax, XLA, and/or TPU, and contributions to relevant open-source projects
- Strong publication record in top-tier AI/ML or VL conferences and demonstrated expertise in AI Architecture, Deep Learning, High Performance Computing, Compilers, and/or Computer Architecture
Responsibilities
- Research, implement, and evaluate self-supervised pretraining methods for large foundational 3D perception models
- Collaborate with research and engineering teams to improve Waymo's foundational models
- Conduct cutting-edge research and potentially communicate research findings to the wider academic community via technical reports and/or publications
