Waymo is looking to develop machine learning solutions addressing open problems in autonomous driving, specifically focusing on training, analyzing, and developing VLMs and VLAs for driving tasks to improve Waymo's foundation models.
Requirements
- Hands-on experience with deep learning frameworks (e.g., PyTorch, JAX)
- First-authored publications from top-tier robotics, computer vision, or machine learning conferences
- Experience pre-training large-scale models
- Research experience with VLMs or VLAs
- Strong programming skills with data and model parallelism
Responsibilities
- Train, analyze, and develop VLMs and VLAs for driving tasks
- Collaborate with research and engineering teams to improve Waymo’s foundation models
- Potentially communicate research findings through academic publications
