Waymo is looking to improve the safety and behavior of the Waymo Driver, the world's most experienced driver, by developing evaluation methods and metrics for road user behavior
Requirements
- Strong background in quantitative human behavior analysis and modeling
- Strong programming skills in Python and/or C/C++
- Strong background in math and statistics
- Experience in simulated road user agent development and implementation in the context of AV evaluation
- Experience in analyzing human road user data
Responsibilities
- Develop evaluation methods and metrics for road user behavior
- Use the developed methods and metrics to evaluate sim agents realism, i.e., to what extent the sim agents replicate key aspects of human behaviors in a ground truth behavior dataset
- Curate human behavior data sets from different sources (e.g., driving simulator data, naturalistic driving) for simulated agent evaluation

- Currently pursuing a PhD program in Cognitive Science, Computer Science, Data Science, Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence or a similar technical field of study
