LS3P is seeking a Research & Innovation Intern to join their Raleigh office to work on a summer research & innovation project that enriches communities in the Southeast through architectural design excellence and expertise.
Requirements
- Research skills and experience
- Strong organization and time management skills
- Excellent written and graphic communication skills
- Graphic design skills are helpful but not required
- Experience with architectural research and design
- Knowledge of the AIA's Framework for Design Excellence and the AIA's Research Agenda
- Familiarity with LS3P's vision statement
Responsibilities
- Develop a question related to architecture that enriches communities in the Southeast
- Review existing literature and precedents
- Conduct an investigation or propose a design solution
- Present findings
- Immerse themselves in a topic related to architecture
- Develop a research project over the course of 10 weeks
- Report to LS3P's Practice Research Strategist, Innovation Leader, and other relevant specialists
Other
- Graduate-level candidates in architecture, interiors, and planning will be given priority
- Undergraduate candidates with research experience will also be considered
- A cover letter detailing possible research interests, a resume, and research work samples are required for all applicants
- Must be able to work in a team environment and collaborate with others
- Must be able to communicate effectively with colleagues and present research findings
