The Oral Drug Product Development (ODPD) department at Takeda is responsible for transforming Takeda's research pipeline into drug products. This internship aims to provide hands-on experience in pharmaceutical formulation and 3D printing of dosage forms, contributing to cutting-edge projects that improve patient outcomes.
Requirements
- Having hands on experience with any of the equipment's such as tablet press, encapsulator, hardness tester, fluid bed, tablet coater, spray dryer, hot melt extruder, compaction simulator, 3D printer is a plus.
- Having hands on experience with any of the characterization techniques such as FT-4, shear cell, texture analyzer, DSC, TGA, Mastersizer is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Support installation and operationalization of the 3D printer.
- Establishing a job aid/instructional procedure, demonstrating capabilities/limitations using model compounds, and establishing a framework for rapid prototyping.
- Intern would learn about basic formulation/excipient considerations and material characterization techniques, including those for amorphous solid dispersions.
- Prepare detailed lab notebooks, technical reports, and presentations to communicate findings and progress effectively.
- Work with analysts, and other scientists to support various stages of product development.
Other
- Currently pursuing a Masters or PhD degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
- This position will be Fully Onsite and require 4+ days in the Cambridge office per week.
- Strong interest in pharmaceutical formulation and development.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks.
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S. on a permanent basis without requiring sponsorship
- Must be currently enrolled in a degree program graduating December 2026 or later
