Point72's Market Intelligence team needs to uncover insights about companies, industries, and the broader economy by applying data science and engineering techniques to alternative data sets, and synthesize these findings for investment professionals.

Requirements

  • Proficiency with Excel and/or data processing/programming (SQL or Python preferred)
  • Experience leveraging data analysis as part of fundamental research process for business, public policy, finance, engineering, applied sciences, or other quantitative fields a plus

Responsibilities

  • applying data science and engineering techniques to alternative data sets
  • develop subject-matter expertise on the key themes and KPIs that drive the industries and companies in your coverage
  • Composition of research reports that synthesize findings for our investment professionals
  • Collaboration with our proprietary research teams including Product, Data Sourcing, and Data Science and Engineering to source and extract the most value out of new and existing data assets
  • Understanding the use of alternative data and its role in discretionary investing
  • Taking an experiment-based research approach with freedom to innovate
  • Gain exposure to best-in-class tools and resources

  • Assignment to a sector, where you will develop subject-matter expertise on the key themes and KPIs that drive the industries and companies in your coverage
  • Interactions directly with our investment professionals, learning the discretionary investment process from them and helping drive more informed investment decisions

  • 0-2+ years of prior equity/investment/scientific research or consulting experience helpful but not required
