Phillips 66 Energy Research and Innovation (ERI) Analytical Solutions team needs to provide chemical insights and solutions to challenging problems, primarily utilizing analytical chemistry expertise to advance the company's capabilities in analytical measurements.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in a Masters or PhD program in Analytical Chemistry, or equivalent field of study.
  • At least one year into a master's or PhD program with demonstrated progress in relevant coursework and research.
  • A minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Experience with Mass Spectrometry, Liquid Chromatography, or Scanning Electron Microscop

Responsibilities

  • Utilize analytical chemistry expertise to advance the company’s capabilities in analytical measurements.
  • Projects vary widely in scope, ranging from optimization of core test methods to developing novel and customized methods to solve challenging problems in the energy industry.
  • Learn about Energy, Research and Innovation business by working with experts throughout the organization at a world class research and development facility.
  • Collaborating with business units across the company including refining, midstream, commercial, and renewables to bring analytical solutions to the field

Other

  • Orientation and training events, field trips, social activities, weekly seminars and opportunities to meet and interact with functional leaders.
  • Participating in continuous coaching conversations with your manager, who will provide direction throughout your internship.
  • Provided with an assigned mentor for further guidance and to help you with the technical challenges of your role and give assistance in navigating through the day-to-day questions regarding working in the corporate world.
  • Giving a presentation at the end of the summer to senior business leaders and key stakeholders.
  • Legally authorized to work in the job posting country
  • Available for a minimum of ten continuous weeks
