At Integrated DNA Technologies (IDT), the business problem is to accelerate the pace of genomics and help shape a healthier, brighter future for all by creating and maintaining tools to accelerate the development and analysis of IDT’s distributed oncology assays.
Requirements
- 2+ years of experience (can include school course work) with Python or similar general-purpose programming language
- Actively pursuing an undergrad degree in computer science, engineering, life sciences (biology, genomics, bioinformatics, etc.), or related field
- Basic web development technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript)
- Version control (Git/GitHub)
- Docker
- Life sciences (biology, genomics, bioinformatics)
- Experience with React, Django, Kubernetes, AWS, Terraform, and VMWare is a plus
Responsibilities
- Help us build essential tools and maintain an outstanding user experience for cancer researchers and clinicians
- Collaborate with software engineers, product managers, bioinformaticians, and research scientists to implement new features
- Write structured, tested, readable, and maintainable code
- Participate in code reviews to ensure code quality and share knowledge
- Help implement new features, fix bugs
- Consult with product managers, customer support, and R&D scientists to ensure that your work meets our users’ needs
- Expand the capabilities of our software platform and enable precision medicine in laboratories, hospital systems, and research centers around the world

- Actively pursuing an undergrad degree in computer science, engineering, life sciences (biology, genomics, bioinformatics, etc.), or related field
- Regular and consistent access to reliable internet and a designated remote working location
- OPTIONAL: may come on site to an IDT office if within commuting distance
- First year MS students in bioinformatics are welcomed to apply
