The Siebel School of Computing and Data Science is looking for an Academic Advisor and Student Services Coordinator to support student advising, outreach, and experience efforts for the iCAN program.
Requirements
- Experience working with student information systems
- Experience with data analysis and reporting
- Knowledge of student development issues as they relate to advising and the student experience
- Experience with student engagement and outreach
- Experience with program management and staff supervision
- Demonstrated experience with student advising and academic services
Responsibilities
- Coordinate advising activities for applicants and potential applicants to the iCAN program
- Implement processes to ensure timely communication of announcements and information to iCAN students
- Utilize the University's Banner, Grad Recs, and Slate systems to enhance student advising
- Assist with compiling of student data for the iCAN program when necessary
- Lead projects designed to improve overall student engagement
- Lead projects to stay connected with iCAN graduates
Other
- Bachelor's degree
- Two years of experience in an advising environment
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Service-oriented attitude and enthusiasm for working with and advising students
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team while meeting multiple deadlines
- Occasional travel outside the Champaign-Urbana area for recruiting events
- Work outside of regular business hours as required to facilitate and attend special events, including evenings and occasional weekends
