WoodmenLife is looking for an Accounting and Internal Audit Intern to assist with a variety of administrative functions by providing support that will help the Accounting and Audit divisions meet daily objectives. Accomplished through exposure to the planning, execution and evaluation stages of various work projects and initiatives, to gain workplace experience in the insurance industry.

Responsibilities
- Gain an in-depth introduction to Accounts Payable processes such as coding and processing payments.
- Gain an in-depth introduction to various Accounts Receivable processes, such as applying payments, researching, and corresponding with Sales Representatives and members.
- Gain in-depth exposure to processes and procedures of Corporate Social Responsibility projects.
- Process and complete certain tax returns and gain an in-depth introduction to unclaimed property and unemployment filings.
- Gain in-depth understanding of the internal auditing process, including owning audit(s) and special projects with assistance from other team members.
- Develop professional business communications through engagement(s) with internal stakeholders across various business units from start to completion.
- Other Accounting/Audit projects as assigned.
Other
- Gain broad exposure to the WoodmenLife organization by meeting weekly with the Internship Cohort, collectively with Executive Leadership, and one-on-one with leaders at the division level.
- Summarize and present capstone presentation of the internship experience including project accomplishments, skill development, and key learnings.
- Sophomore, Junior or Senior in college with area of study in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field(s)
- Must have a 3.0 or higher GPA
- Ability to work 38.75 hours per week
