CAE Defense & Security is looking to hire a Software Engineer to support the implementation, testing, and documentation of instructional systems software for CTS Training Devices at ACTS sites, ensuring a smooth transition into the configured product baseline in Tampa.
Requirements
- Knowledge of the UNIX/LINUX environment (Solaris), programming languages (C/C++, FORTRAN, Ada) and Windows applications, and the Visual Studio suite (Visual Basic, Visual C, Visual C++).
- Knowledge of computer theory and operation a must.
- Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field.
- Working knowledge of the Microsoft Suite – Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access.
- Ability to read, analyze and interpret technical documents and procedures or government regulations.
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedural manuals.
- Technical writing and presentation skills
Responsibilities
- Designs, modifies, develops, writes and implements software-programming applications.
- Supports and/or installs software applications/operating systems.
- Participates in the testing process through test review and analysis, test witnessing and certification of software.
- Generates preliminary and detailed designs as required for enhancements or modifications to existing designs, requiring the application of current industry design concepts and utilization of basic technical writing skills
- Performs a variety of specific professional engineering tasks of an analysis, design or test nature in support of the customer in a specialized engineering field such as software, mechanical, electrical, aerodynamics or electronics.
- Supports the TSSC Engineering group through all phases of software implementation and design on assigned projects with minimal supervision.
- Works closely with Test Engineer, Flightcrew Instructors and Subject Matter Experts to evaluate and test software design implementation.
Other
- Bachelors’ degree in engineering, physics, computer science, mathematics or related curriculum
- Minimum of 0-2 years’ experience in the simulation or software development industry
- Ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Ability to perform effectively as a part of the project team.
- Applicant will be subject to a US Government investigation for access to classified information and must meet the eligibility requirements to obtain/maintain the required level of security clearance
