Sony Honda Mobility of America Inc. is seeking an ADAS Software Validation Engineer to validate and troubleshoot advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS) features on SHMA's software-defined vehicle platform, transforming raw telemetry into actionable defect reports to accelerate bug-fix cycles and ensure a premium customer experience.
Requirements
- 3+ years of software development and/or validation experience on Linux platforms and/or embedded systems.
- Hands-on experience with autonomous driving (AD) or ADAS technologies.
- Familiarity with sensors such as cameras, radar, and lidar.
- Proficiency with tools such as Jira, Confluence, and defect tracking workflows.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and automated testing frameworks.
- Exposure to ADAS or autonomous vehicle validation environments.
- Experience with AWS, OpenTelemetry, or log aggregation pipelines.
Responsibilities
- Write and debug embedded software for ADAS functions in real-time environments.
- Conduct and support in-vehicle and bench testing, validation, and data collection.
- Triage complex field issues by analyzing logs, isolating fault domains, and reproducing issues on benches or vehicles.
- Analyze sensor and system data logs; perform root cause analysis and recommend improvements.
- Develop tools and dashboards to streamline log analysis, telemetry review, and trend detection.
- Contribute to system architecture discussions and requirements documentation.
- Collaborate with validation engineers, system architects, and global development teams to ensure high-quality ADAS validation.

- 4+ years of experience in development and/or validation within the automotive industry.
- Ability to work on-site in the San Francisco Bay Area at least 4 days a week.
- Ability to communicate in both English and Japanese.
- Occasional domestic and international travel may be required for validation or global collaboration.
