Capgemini is looking for an experienced Data Engineer to lead the migration of DB Offline reports currently residing on an on-premises Oracle database to Snowflake.
Requirements
- Strong experience with Oracle Database (SQL, PL/SQL, stored procedures, performance tuning).
- Hands-on experience with Snowflake data warehouse (SnowSQL, Snowflake-specific features like micro-partitioning, clustering, warehouses).
- Experience with data migration tools and approaches.
- Proficiency in SQL performance optimization for both Oracle and Snowflake.
- Understanding of data warehousing concepts, star/snowflake schemas, and reporting systems.
- Experience with cloud platforms and integration with Snowflake.
- Knowledge of DevOps practices, CI/CD for data pipelines.
Responsibilities
- Assess and document current Oracle DB structures, reports, and dependencies.
- Design and implement a scalable migration strategy from Oracle to Snowflake.
- Re-engineer stored procedures, PL/SQL logic, and offline report generation into Snowflake-compatible processes.
- Optimize data models, SQL queries, and reporting pipelines for Snowflake performance.
- Work with business and reporting teams to validate migrated reports for accuracy and completeness.
- Implement data governance, access controls, and monitoring in Snowflake.
- Collaborate with infrastructure and security teams to ensure compliance and smooth cutover.
