Santa Fe College's Information Technology Education (ITE) program is seeking an Adjunct Assistant Professor to teach a variety of courses in programming, database, and analysis to prepare students for careers in the IT field. The role involves designing and delivering instruction, evaluating student learning, and contributing to curriculum development.

Requirements

  • Mastery of the following: Software: Visual Studios, Idle, Eclipse, Git or Git Hub or other version control software, Microsoft Project or other Project Management Software
  • Programming languages: SQL, Python, C based language (java, C, C++, C)
  • Cloud: AWS, Azure, or Google
  • Database: SQL Server Management Systems, MySQL, SQLLite
  • Misc: Kubernetes, Docker, other Containerization skillset or knowledge
  • Proficient computer skills, including familiarity with the Microsoft Suite of Office Applications.

Responsibilities

  • Designing courses, delivering instruction, evaluating student learning, and incorporating college-required technology.
  • Plan, organize, and deliver information technology education instruction in didactic, laboratory and/or classroom settings to promote student success within a community college setting.
  • Collaborate with department chair, faculty, and peers to evaluate, revise, and develop curriculum to cultivate the mastery of course content.
  • Provide students with frequent, timely assessment of and clear feedback regarding academic performance.
  • Appropriately document student progress and maintain accurate records such as attendance, grading and achievement of student learning outcomes.
  • Develop methods that fairly and accurately assess students' progress in achieving the stated learning outcomes/objectives.
  • Prepare and teaches a variety of coursework in information technology, and may include MS Office apps for college computing, database administration, database management, data analysis, applications development, intro to Cloud , project management, as well as other subject areas, depending on applicant's qualifications.

  • Support and promote the college and departmental missions centered on excellence in teaching and learning through quality instruction, curriculum enhancement, and service.
  • Honor student confidentiality and privacy as per appropriate laws, regulations and college rules.
  • Maintain appropriate office hours proportionate to the instructional assignment.
  • Provide service excellence through courteous, informed, accessible and professional engagement.
