The Department of Labor, Licensing and Regulation (LLR) needs to process applications for licensure, review documents, respond to inquiries, and maintain accurate records to ensure South Carolina is a safe place to work and live.
Requirements
- computer skills (data entry, word processing/correspondence)

- Considerable knowledge and skill in the use of office equipment, computers, and computer software programs.
Responsibilities
- You will process initial, renewal, and reinstatement applications for Engineering, Surveyors, and Architectural Examiners licensure (via paper and online), utilizing applicable databases and software.
- You will review and evaluate documents and ensure all necessary requirements for licensure are completed.
- You will assemble, prepare, and scan documents to records system.
- You will respond to customer inquiries received through walk-ins, telephone calls, e-mails, and other methods providing timely and accurate responses to requests related to Engineering, Surveyors, and Architectural Examiners application and licensing processes.
- You will perform other administrative duties such as updating the Boards’ websites with accurate information, cross train on other duties with licensing requirements, and assist with projects, reports, and Board meeting preparations.

- A high school diploma and work experience that is directly related to the area of employment.
- A bachelor's degree may be substituted for the related work experience.
- Strong customer service skills and experience performing administrative functions.
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, policies, and organizational functions of the applicable boards.
- Ability to effectively plan and organize work activities and prioritize tasks.
- Ability to exercise judgment and discretion in interpreting and applying policies and procedures.
- Position works in an office environment with extended periods of sitting and standing.
- May require occasional work outside of normal office hours.
- May be required to lift, carry, move and/or position objects weighing up to 25 lbs.
