GE Aerospace is seeking an Advanced Product Development (APD) Systems Staff Engineer to lead systems design and development for an Edison Works New Product Introduction (NPI) program, specifically focusing on Low Pressure Turbine (LPT) and Turbine Rear Frame (TRF) Hardware Systems Engineering. The role aims to advance propulsion capability for next-generation military applications by designing, integrating, and testing advanced technologies.
Requirements
- Be an expert in MBSE and ensure all interfaces, test plans, and qualification plans are accurately and completely mapped to components and modeled without error in the MBSE digital model
- Demonstrated expertise in military jet engine design, specifically LPT and TRF component design and system design, including the testing, and certification of this hardware
- Experience with finite element analysis using Ansys, Nastran, or equivalent
- Expertise with NX software or equivalent CAD software
- Certification in or background with Material Review Board (MRB) engineering support
- Experience with engine/aircraft maintainability and reliability
- Experience with design quality assurance
Responsibilities
- In concert with the NGP3 HS Leader, execute the design, analysis, or evaluation of the LPT and TRF within the engine system design using sound engineering principles and adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and product / program requirements
- Conducts component and product integration. All activities that span multiple components and products and are concerned with how to integrate for maximum performance and operability. Manages product and systems requirements, specifications and flow down. Drives validation and verification activities for the overall product/system, including system level testing.
- Responsible for defining product requirements for the module / component / subcontractors and partners teams. Manages interface between components and execution organizations.
- Responsible for driving CTQ / Risk trades within the teams designing the components. Manages the overall product configuration and configuration control system.
- Developing specialized knowledge in their discipline. Serves as best practice/quality resource. Has awareness of latest technical developments in own area. Contributes towards strategy and policy development, and ensure delivery within area of responsibility.
- Uses judgment to make decisions or solve moderately complex tasks or problems in areas of operational/product management, manufacturing, technology or engineering. Takes new perspective on existing solutions. Uses technical experience and expertise for data analysis to support recommendations. Uses multiple internal and limited external sources outside of own function to arrive at decisions.
- Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience. May lead small projects with moderate risks and resource requirements. Explains difficult or sensitive information; works to build consensus. Developing persuasion skills required to influence others on topics within field.

- Minimum of 6 years of experience in an engineering position
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience with Engine Systems Engineering
- Due to the nature of the duties of this position, this role requires the individual to obtain and maintain US Government Security Clearance; prerequisite for a security clearance is U.S. citizenship
- Must hold or have the ability to obtain “Advanced Programs” access
