Baker Hughes' Industry & Energy Technology (IET) team needs to select and qualify new Aero repair processes and suppliers to optimize the extraction, production, and processing of energy, reduce operating costs, and improve productivity for their customers.
Requirements
- Significant knowledge or experience with special processes (welding, brazing, coating, heat treatment, destructive & nondestructive testing, etc)
- Proven analytical and organizational ability
- Strong computer and systems skills including Microsoft office and PowerPoint
- Understanding of engineering drawings
- Aeroderivative technology knowledge
- Knowledge of the principles of Lean manufacturing and Six Sigma (an asset)
- Effective problem identification and solution skills. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Responsibilities
- For supplier qualifications, action plans, pre-audits
- Leading and managing the technical assessment of the capability of repair sources, supported by Repair Engineer and Advanced Manufacturing Engineer (in case of Special Process involved) according to qualification process described on internal procedures
- Managing the eSQM system to open and close all qualification process as per internal procedure including time line managing
- Understanding of engineering drawings and ability to manage vendors
- Advising Functional managers regarding projects, processes and procedures in the own field
- Handling communication with direct colleagues and the business about design and coordination services rendered
- Supporting performance monitoring, and assisting key suppliers towards industrial standards of excellence
Other
- Bachelor's mechanical degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with at least 10 years of experience in Manufacturing/Service)
- At least 5 years of experience in a Quality or Sourcing Roles
- Proven ability to work collaboratively and influence cross-functional teams.
- Good project management skills with the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
- Be able to travel locally and internationally at short notice to customer offices or site plants
