UM Aerospace is looking to improve its aerospace manufacturing processes by hiring an Aerospace Robotics Tech who can serve as a subject matter expert, solve problems, improve processes, and ensure product quality.
Requirements
- Strong understanding of mechanical concepts and manufacturing processes.
- Experience with CNC and/or robotics operations and programming (3+ years preferred).
- Working knowledge of GD&T.
- Experience supporting new processes, technologies, or R&D-style experimentation is beneficial.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to evaluate data, diagnose problems, and test hypotheses.
- Ability to learn and operate a wide range of equipment, including CMM tools and advanced controllers.
- Resilient and able to work through setbacks with curiosity and a scientific approach.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the subject matter expert for UM Aerospace machining processes and production lines.
- Support engineering teams with process improvements, new part introduction, development projects, and cost/yield enhancement.
- Troubleshoot mechanical, process, and equipment issues using logical and scientific thinking.
- Lead or support test plan development and establish experimental techniques for data collection and analysis.
- Identify defects, verify compliance with QA and regulatory requirements, and document results through reports, charts, and technical summaries.
- Monitor process control, repeatability, and stability using SPC and other engineering tools.
- Evaluate newly installed equipment under real operating conditions.

- 3–5 years of technical leadership experience preferred.
- Strong communication skills for reporting, collaboration, and training.
- Strong commitment to safety, documentation accuracy, and disciplined process execution.
- Fill in for production roles as needed and support special projects.
