Collins Aerospace is looking to hire an Aero Thermal Fluids Engineer I to fulfill a wind tunnel engineering role to support the research, development, and qualification of all parts manufactured in Burnsville, MN
Requirements
- Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and student must be pursuing a Bachelor’s or advanced degree in an applicable discipline
- Experience with CAD software and/or numerical analysis software
- Experience with fabrication
- Familiarity with aerodynamic principles
- MATLAB
- Creo
- CAD software
Responsibilities
- You will characterize and track the performance of aerodynamic sensors over time in the wind tunnels using MATLAB
- You will ensure that databases tracking aerodynamic sensors location is accurate
- You will assist engineering staff with troubleshooting wind tunnels when it not functioning
- You will complete projects that work toward the long-term improvement of the wind tunnels and you will perform preventative maintenance on the wind tunnels
- You will complete CAD drawings of test fixtures that are needed for the wind tunnels and assist clients with issues in the wind tunnels
- You will use MATLAB to find trends in data sets
- You will use Creo to CAD test fixtures
