Medtronic's Diabetes business is seeking to promote future growth and innovation by separating the Diabetes division, and this position will contribute to this goal by developing and implementing software algorithms and machine learning techniques to improve product and system performance.

Requirements

  • Robust and in-depth knowledge of Python, SQL, and/or other language used for analytics
  • Proficiency with relational database technologies
  • Experience writing production-level code
  • Experience in a regulated environment, ideally within medical devices; medical data analytics (examples include data discovery, pattern recognition, machine learning and data modeling algorithms)
  • Understanding of FDA regulations including (ISO) 13485
  • Experience in CI/CD and DevOps practices
  • Experience in key AWS services like S3, EC2, Lambda, CloudWatch, Sagemaker

Responsibilities

  • develops and programs integrated software algorithms to structure, analyze and leverage data in product and systems applications in both structured and unstructured environments.
  • Develops and communicates descriptive, diagnostic, predictive and prescriptive insights/algorithms.
  • uses machine language and statistical modeling techniques such as decision trees, logistic regression, Bayesian analysis and others to develop and evaluate algorithms to improve product/system performance, quality, data management and accuracy.
  • uses current programming language and technologies to translate algorithms and technical specifications into code.
  • Completes programming and implements efficiencies, performs testing and debugging.
  • Completes documentation and procedures for installation and maintenance.
  • Applies deep learning technologies to give computers the capability to visualize, learn and respond to complex situations.

Other

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, Math, or similar field and 2+ years medical data analytics
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; open to presenting information to cross functional audiences and leadership teams.
  • Advanced degree in computer science, mathematics, systems engineering, mechanical engineering, or closely related field
  • Ability to work in a hybrid environment (3 days a week onsite in Northridge, CA)
  • Must be able to work with large scale computing frameworks, data analysis systems and modeling environments.
