Lockheed Martin is looking for an AI/ML Forward Deployed Engineer to serve as a technical liaison between customers and the AI consulting team within the Lockheed Martin Artificial Intelligence Center (LAIC), designing, building, deploying, and maintaining machine learning solutions directly inside customer environments.
Requirements
- Python experience with libraries such as pandas, scikit-learn, PyTorch, or TensorFlow.
- Experience training, evaluating, and tuning ML models.
- Experience with Git, unit testing, CI/CD basics, and Docker.
- Knowledge of data science or data engineering fundamentals.
- 2 to 5 years of professional experience building or deploying AI/ML solutions.
- Experience with MLOps tools like Kubeflow, MLflow, or Airflow.
- Familiarity with big data platforms such as Spark, Snowflake, or BigQuery.
Responsibilities
- Build, test, and deploy end-to-end ML models, pipelines, and API services in customer production environments.
- Monitor and optimize deployed solutions to meet performance SLAs and business KPIs.
- Act as the primary technical point of contact for assigned business functions.
- Translate business requirements into clear technical designs and explain model behavior to non-technical audiences.
- Work closely with data engineers, product managers, and business leaders to embed ML solutions into existing workflows.
- Conduct rapid assessments for new opportunities and pivot quickly as priorities evolve.
