Command Cyber Solutions, LLC is seeking an AI Ethics Subject Matter Expert (SME) to provide technical expertise and advisory support to the Department of Defense’s (DoD) Responsible Artificial Intelligence (RAI) initiatives, addressing ethical, human factors, cybersecurity, and policy considerations in the development and deployment of AI systems.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Applied Ethics, AI Ethics, Data Ethics, or related field from an accredited university (Required).
  • Master’s degree in Applied Ethics, AI Ethics, Data Ethics, or related discipline (Preferred).
  • Top Secret Clearance with SCI Eligibility (Required).
  • 10+ years of progressive experience with AI/IT fields with a focus on ethics.
  • 5+ years of disciplinary expertise in cybersecurity, human factors, ethics, and policy.
  • 5+ years of experience designing and running Responsible AIT tabletop exercises.
  • 5+ years of experience conducting RAI gap analysis and developing courses of actions for DoD.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical expertise on AI ethics across disciplines including cybersecurity, human factors, system safety, test and evaluation, and policy.
  • Design, develop, and facilitate Responsibility AI tabletop exercises to identify risks and test ethical frameworks in DoD AI applications.
  • Conduct Responsible AI gap analyses and scope courses of action (COAs) to address DoD RAI capability and process needs.
  • Support the development and evaluation of AI ethics products, frameworks, and governance tools.
  • Advise DoD stakeholders on the application of ethical principles to AI system design, deployment, and lifecycle management.
  • Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams including engineers, policy analysts, and senior leaders to integrate ethics into AI strategy and operations.
  • Contribute to the drafting of DoD-wide AI ethics policies, white papers, and technical standards to advance enterprise-level adoption of responsible AI practices.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Applied Ethics, AI Ethics, Data Ethics, or related field from an accredited university (Required).
  • Master’s degree in Applied Ethics, AI Ethics, Data Ethics, or related discipline (Preferred).
  • Top Secret Clearance with SCI Eligibility (Required).
  • Occasional travel may be required for customer meetings, training, or project-related activities.
  • Excellent communication skills, with ability to engage senior DoD stakeholders and present complex ethical issues in actionable terms.
