SMBC Group is seeking an AI Governance Lead to develop and oversee frameworks ensuring the responsible, ethical, and compliant use of AI across the organization, focusing on AI framework development & operationalization, risk mitigation, and adherence to regulatory requirements while fostering trust in AI-driven initiatives.
Requirements
- Strong understanding of AI ethics, policies, and regulatory frameworks.
- Familiarity with bias detection and interpretability techniques.
Responsibilities
- Operationalize the AI Governance Framework across the use cases life cycle (from business case, intake, build, production and monitoring including inventory management)
- Implement methodologies to detect and mitigate biases in AI models.
- Develop educational programs to ensure responsible AI usage across departments.
- Track AI governance KPIs, produce reports, and recommend policy refinements.
Other
- Collaborate with AI Working Group to establish governance policies for AI ethics, fairness, transparency, and accountability.
- Collaborate with control functions and key stakeholders to integrate responsible AI practices and ensure AI systems comply with legal, regulatory, and industry standards
- Must have a positive, collaborative leadership style with colleagues and customer first attitude.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in law, business, technology, or related fields.
- SMBC requires that employees live within a reasonable commuting distance of their office location.
