BWX Technologies, Inc. is looking to solve the problem of securely, scalably, and strategically adopting artificial intelligence across their Technical Services Group. This involves identifying high-impact opportunities, embedding AI into core workflows, and ensuring responsible implementation aligned with business objectives, security protocols, and compliance standards.
Requirements
- Strong understanding of machine learning, natural language processing, and data engineering.
- Proficiency in Python, JavaScript, or similar programming languages.
- Experience with enterprise-grade AI platforms (e.g., Azure AI, OpenAI, AWS SageMaker, Google Vertex AI).
- Familiarity with APIs, workflow automation tools, cloud services, and integration frameworks.
- Deep knowledge of cybersecurity principles, data protection, secure software development, and responsible AI practices.
- Certifications in AI/ML or cloud technologies (e.g., Azure AI Engineer, AWS ML Specialist).
- Familiarity with security and compliance frameworks (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001, SOC 2, GDPR, HIPAA).
Responsibilities
- Design and implement AI-powered solutions that integrate seamlessly into existing systems and workflows.
- Build prototypes and proof-of-concepts to validate AI applications before scaling.
- Evaluate and implement third-party AI platforms, APIs, and models in coordination with IT and security teams.
- Ensure all AI integrations comply with data governance, privacy regulations, and internal security protocols.
- Work closely with data scientists, engineers, and business stakeholders to ensure seamless technical integration.
- Develop documentation, training, and enablement resources to support AI literacy and responsible use across teams.
- Monitor performance, adoption, and impact of AI tools; iterate based on feedback and evolving business needs.
Other
- Minimum of 6 years of relevant professional experience with a degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or a closely related field.
- An advanced degree may substitute for a portion of the experience requirement.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical audiences.
- Position requires U.S. citizenship with (no dual citizenship) ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy (DOE) security clearance which involves an extensive criminal and financial background investigation, drug test and previous employment reference verifications.
- This position follows a hybrid work model, with a combination of remote work and on-site travel as needed.
