Chime's AI/ML team is building models, services, and platforms that transform how millions of users manage and grow their financial lives. The role will support scalable AI/ML solutions that power member experience, risk assessment, growth and marketing, experimentation and real-time decision systems, and contribute to Chime's growing generative AI and large language model (LLM) capabilities.
Requirements
- Experience with model training, tuning, and inference workflows in production.
- Exposure to large language models (e.g., GPT, LLaMA, Claude) and experience working with foundational models, prompt engineering, or fine-tuning.
- Familiarity with RAG architectures, vector databases (e.g., FAISS, Pinecone), and unstructured data processing is a plus.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS preferred), orchestration tools and version control.
- Deep understanding of modern AI/ML techniques, including optimization, deep learning and transformer-based architectures..
- Proficiency in Python and intermediate to advanced knowledge of SQL, with the ability to wrangle data from diverse sources.
- Experience with technologies such as AWS, Kafka, Airflow, Redis, MySQL, Postgres, Spark, Snowflake, and Looker.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement training pipelines for AI/ML models, including generative models and LLM fine-tuning or prompt engineering.
- Own the development and testing of features used in production AI/ML models, including embeddings, vector stores, and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) pipelines.
- Collaborate with data engineers and product teams to scope and refine problem statements, particularly those involving natural language interfaces or content generation.
- Conduct model evaluations using offline metrics and online A/B tests for both predictive and generative models.
- Write modular, testable, and maintainable code following engineering best practices.
Other
- Exceptional communication and collaboration skills, with experience working with stakeholders across product, design, engineering, and marketing.
- Full-time employees are also eligible for a bonus, competitive equity package, and benefits.
- A thoughtful hybrid work policy that combines in-office days and trips to team and company-wide events depending on location to ensure you stay connected to your work and teammates, whether you’re local to one of our offices or remote
