Apple Machine Translation team is looking to develop the next generation of core MT technology and Large Language Model technologies to allow users to communicate across language barriers and perform multilingual tasks

Requirements

• 3+ year experience in machine learning and NLP including model training, inference, Large Language Models and neural machine translation, language modeling, sequence-to-sequence models, etc.
• Experience developing AI/ML systems at scale in production or in high-impact research environments
• Knowledge with common deep learning toolkits including JAX, PyTorch or Tensorflow
• Expertise in key language technologies including machine translation, large language model and natural language processing
• Ability to formulate a research problem, design, experiment and implement solutions in C/C++/Java, Python, bash scripting, etc.
• Design and deployment of real-world, large-scale, user-facing MT or LLM systems
• Experience with machine translation, large language model and natural language processing

Responsibilities

• Develop the next generation of core MT technology and Large Language Model technologies
• Investigate novel modeling and learning approaches and evaluation methods for Multilingual Large Language Models and Machine Translation
• Work with a wide variety of language technologies to advance the edge of the LLM and MT technology to tackle real world problems
• Design and deployment of real-world, large-scale, user-facing MT or LLM systems
• Formulate a research problem, design, experiment and implement solutions in C/C++/Java, Python, bash scripting, etc.
• Develop AI/ML systems at scale in production or in high-impact research environments
• Advance the edge of the LLM and MT technology to tackle real world problems
