The Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) is looking to solve the problem of implementing artificial intelligence (AI) initiatives responsibly, securely, and effectively across programs.
Requirements
- AI governance, compliance, and risk management practices
- IT service management frameworks
- Contract management and vendor oversight
- State and federal regulatory requirements related to technology and AI
- Operational best practices for enterprise systems
- Experience in operational oversight of artificial intelligence systems or emerging technologies
- Knowledge of process design, documentation, and improvement
Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain policies, standards, and procedures to ensure responsible and ethical use of AI.
- Oversee the daily operations of AI systems, including monitoring performance, inventory, reliability, and risk.
- Partner with program areas and vendors to drive safe and effective adoption of AI tools.
- Manage vendor relationships, deliverables, and service-level agreements related to AI solutions and initiatives.
- Track AI operational metrics, prepare reports for leadership, and recommend improvements.
- Establish processes for issue escalation, remediation, and service continuity.
- Ensure compliance with applicable regulations and standards.
Other
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in IT or operations management, with at least 3 years in a leadership role
- Selected candidates must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
- This is a hybrid position based in Austin with at least three (3) days in the office required.
- Selected candidate must be willing to commute to the office on the required days up to five (5) days per week.
- Prior public sector or regulatory compliance experience is preferred.
