Markon is seeking an AI Engineer/Policy SME to support AI governance and policy development within the IC community, translating AI trends into actionable policy and governance guidance for emerging technologies.
Requirements
- Expert in AI architecture, development, and translating technical concepts into policy.
- Expertise in AI ethics, policy, or law related to emerging technology.
- Skilled in establishing AI policy for existing and emerging technologies.
- Experience with AI applications like NLP, LLM, GenAI, RAG, and Agentic AI.
- Background in at least two areas: AI development, architecture, policy, engineering, ethics, or emerging tech.
- Proficient in Python, R, SQL, Jupyter, MLOps, and AI/ML cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google, Oracle).
- Experience designing, developing, optimizing, and deploying AI models and solutions.
Responsibilities
- Provide senior technical advisory support on AI policy development and governance.
- Serve as subject matter expert on AI technologies, including architecture, ethics, policy, and legal aspects.
- Translate complex AI concepts into clear policy and governance documents.
- Monitor AI advancements and recommend improvements to support organizational vision.
- Conduct research and trend analysis on emerging AI technologies to guide policy decisions.
- Produce detailed documentation and reports on AI policy and governance.
- Experience with AI applications like NLP, LLM, GenAI, RAG, and Agentic AI.

- Active TS/SCI with Polygraph required.
- Bachelor’s + 10 years, Master’s + 7 years, or PhD/JD + 5 years related experience.
- Experience collaborating with IC partners on AI policy and governance.
- 5+ years working with Intel Community partners, including non-DoD elements.
- Collaborative with data scientists and AI stakeholders.
