Axos Bank is looking to build the next generation of AI-powered capabilities to improve customer experiences and streamline internal operations by integrating AI components with their platforms and services.
Requirements
- Proficiency in Python and familiarity with software engineering fundamentals (data structures, testing, debugging)
- Familiarity with RESTful APIs and JSON for integration work
- Experience with git (e.g., GitHub or Azure DevOps) for version control and collaboration
- Exposure to large language models (LLMs) or generative‑AI concepts through coursework, projects, research, or internships
- Internship, co‑op, research assistantship, or 1+ year's of hands‑on experience building AI/ML or data‑powered applications
- Exposure to cloud AI services (e.g., Azure AI Foundry, Vertex AI) and MLOps basics (experiments, tracking, model packaging)
- Familiarity with LLM application frameworks or patterns (e.g., orchestration chains, retrieval‑augmented generation)
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with product, engineering, and business partners to clarify requirements and turn them into well‑scoped technical tasks for AI‑driven solutions
- Build small prototypes and proofs‑of‑concept to validate ideas; document findings and next‑step recommendations
- Contribute features to AI applications and services (APIs, data pipelines, model/prompt components) with code reviews and mentorship support
- Implement tests, observability, and basic safeguards for reliability and responsible AI usage under senior guidance
- Package and ship code through our version control and release processes, following secure coding and change‑management practices
- Stay current on AI/ML and GenAI developments; share learnings with the team through notes, demos, or brown‑bags
