Medica is seeking an AI Platform Engineer to help build and scale their next-generation AI agents and infrastructure to improve the healthcare experience end-to-end for members, providers, and employees.
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience developing production-grade software using Python, Go, or similar backend languages
- Demonstrated ability to work with public cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, or GCP), including provisioning and scaling under guidance or established patterns
- Hands-on experience deploying infrastructure using Terraform or other declarative IaC tools
- Familiarity with containerization and orchestration technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes, and Helm
- Exposure to modern DevOps and observability tooling, including GitHub Actions, Prometheus, Grafana, and OpenTelemetry
- Have strong opinions on agent frameworks (e.g., LangGraph, AutoGen, CrewAI, OpenAI ADK)—and can explain when and why to use them (or when/why not to).
- Can explain agent workflows such as orchestrator-workers, evaluator-optimizer, and prompt chaining.
Responsibilities
- Assist in designing, implementing and deploying AI pipelines and systems—from evaluation setup and benchmarking to integration with products. Focus on building reliable, observable and safe components
- Collaborate on prototyping and building production grade AI-powered features and consumer-facing systems. Contribute to solving healthcare and technical challenges by applying modern AI tools and frameworks
- Participate in architectural discussions and contribute to code reviews. Learn and apply engineering best practices, and support platform development through clean, maintainable code
- Stay current with AI tends and tools. Explore new approaches and share learnings with the team. Support adoption of promising technologies that enhance platform and enterprise capabilities
