BMO's Enterprise Risk Group is looking to fill a Governance Analyst role to support the AML Governance & Control team. This role is crucial for maintaining the bank's risk management framework, fostering a strong risk culture, and ensuring compliance with AML regulations by providing independent review and oversight of enterprise-wide risks.

Requirements

  • Proficiency in MS Office and AML-specific systems.
  • Strong understanding of AML operations, financial services, and regulatory requirements.
  • Technical proficiency gained through education and/or business experience.
  • Proficient knowledge of consumer protection and related marketing and advertising guidelines.
  • Proficient level of knowledge of a compliance field.
  • Strong knowledge of business operations & procedures, and activities involving documented practices.
  • Data driven decision making - In-depth.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct quality control reviews of monthly and quarterly AML metrics to ensure accuracy.
  • Serve as GRCE tool expert, supporting control enhancements and transitions.
  • Maintain governance documentation and support committee/forum logistics.
  • Oversee the AML Resource Library and SharePoint sites, ensuring timely updates and compliance with review cycles.
  • Assists in the implementation, maintenance and administration of a specific compliance program.
  • Coordinates and performs risk assessment, monitoring, testing and surveillance activities to ensure program remains current and aligned with BMO Compliance Program.
  • Works with business/group and internal partners to ensure regulatory, corporate and fiduciary obligations are met.

  • Bachelor’s degree and/or 3–5 years of relevant experience.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • This role follows a hybrid work model. Employees are expected to work onsite in the office for a minimum of 50% of their scheduled time each month.
  • Typically between 3 - 5 years of relevant experience and post-secondary degree in related field of study or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
